While some of these awards could be considered 'tacky', they do serve a purpose... and it's not to show-off any skill or real beauty.

Use an 'awards' or 'links' area to further enhance your internal & external link strength (or both).  Different Search Engines place different values on outgoing and incoming links to your site. 

You simply submit your site (for free) to these "awards' sites.  We don't have to tell you how to find them do we?  You can apply at each of these links to start, but there are many, many, more.
