My wife and I continue to be taken advantage of while they freeload and squat in our Schaumburg property. You just can't trust anyone nowadays... Even if they work as an Officer at a prominent bank in Illinois.

But please, allow me to start from the beginning. In May of 2024, my wife and I found what we felt was our dream property (farm) in South Carolina. Our 'Closing' would be in August. I had always wanted warmer weather, and was a Nascar fan since my youth. So I had been searching the Carolina's for our retirement place as we got older. We knew suburban Chicago was NOT the place for us to reside anymore. However, before moving out of Schaumburg, Illinois I had to find a solution to selling that house without financially tying it into the new property we were buying in South Carolina. Turns out, that was the best decision I made in this ordeal.
I thought we were doing them a great service to offer them a home with excellent terms. This turned out to be a terrible mistake, first in trusting them, and second, for believing what they told us. You can find our original offer here. Lisa Yarger and Christopher Yarger continue to reside in our property for FREE . It is now almost July 2024 - They have made no payments since October of 2024. This is without explanation and completely unethical and dishonest (IMO). Yes, they are still employed. I cannot give you their justification, because they have not given any. Lisa Yarger works for a bank in Elk Grove, Illinois - She is an Officer (no less). Her husband Christopher Yarger was still occasionally driving truck for additional income. You would think that with such a high standing bank position, AND being my employed sister, that we could trust her and her husband. It turns out we could not, and you should not trust them either (IMO). However, you are free to make your own judgments, I would not recommend trusting them with anything having to do with money, how ironic, since she has tried to build her career by working with other peoples money. In our case, by jeopardizing our fine credit status of 13 years in payments on this mortgage. And when they stopped making the mortgage payments, she had the nerve to tell me not to contact them anymore? She claimed I was threatening them when asking for the payments they had agreed to make? While they continued to live in our house rent and payment free with their daughter. Now they wait for us to find the funds to have them removed, while living with the fact that our credit now shows a property foreclosure that Lisa Yarger and her husband are directly responsible for. They continue to live there with no intent of doing the right thing, or even moving out in a timely manner. They obviously do not care what they have done to others and care only about their financial gains at our expense. These are NOT the actions of an ethical and responsible bank officer (IMO). They have upgraded newer vehicles for themselves sitting in the driveway now... You can do this when you don't pay any rent on the property you and your family are living in. I am certain her use of prescription pain pills (not her prescription mind you), combined with her alcohol use have helped in their distorted decision making process. I guess she does not have 'random' drug testing in her position at the bank. I am also pretty sure that her employer does not know of what they have done and continue to do here. (Ethics?) Did I mention the unauthorized withdrawals and later deposits in my business account at her bank? I guess I just did. When you take all these facts into account, you can see why Lisa and Christopher Yarger cannot be trusted . We still wonder exactly why they chose this path, and since we have had no contact with them since their deception, and non-payment, we have had to rely on others to keep us posted on our homes condition as well as the fact that they have not packed or moved out and continue to live without paying for their stay at this property. This property is now in foreclosure, and we do not have the funds to pull it out of debt. Months and months have passed and we continue to be taken advantage of by this unscrupulous couple. We are trying to get enough money together and take the legal steps necessary to remove them. It is almost July of 2024, and they show no signs of moving out of their free rent position in our property. I believe it is referred to as "squatting" or "freeloading". I promise to update this story as time and money allow. For right now, warning you is the best thing I can do. Maybe soon we will have the cash flow to hire an attorney and have them removed from our property. It is unethical, it is illegal, and it is also disgraceful. In my opinion, you cannot trust Lisa Yarger or her husband Christopher. We took them for their word... and we were 'burned' badly. I once learned that people can say all they want, but their true image is in what they do; Hence, "We are what we do". UPDATE: As of June 20th, 2024 my wife and I (now) owe over $12,000 to stop this property from being foreclosed on. This is the amount that Lisa and her husband Christopher Yarger did not pay, yet they have continued to reside in our property for free without making the payments they agreed to when verbally agreeing to buy the house. You can make your own decision on whether or not you can trust these two adults. We have been lied to about numerous promises they made to us. If Lisa Yarger can do this to her brother... Can you trust them to tell you the truth or pay rent? Please do not be fooled by their words or promises. We trusted them, and now we pay for that mistake. Hopefully others can be saved by our mistakes. UPDATE: October 2024 - We were finally able to hire an attorney and have them evicted from our property. Lisa Yarger and her husband Christopher claimed they spent $15,000 on this house BEFORE they stopped making the payments that they agreed to make. So now we take back possession of the home and find this to be ANOTHER LIE in the life of these deceptive people. On the contrary, they devalued the property by removing trees and leaving the home with entire fixtures missing and more.
The total amount my wife and I are in debt for after their unethical
behavior is just shy of $17,000. Now we are not in the position to make
up this amount and the home is in foreclosure. We have no choice but to
let the house foreclose, losing approximately $40-50,000. I have learned
many a valuable lesson in this ordeal. Lisa and Chris Yarger will lie
about anything to further their own agenda. They have obviously lied to
another Rent Manager to even get another place. They have lied to us,
their employers, and many others. We just hope YOU are not the ones
trusting them, as they are probably lying to you too. God has blessed me
with many things, forgiveness being one of them. But let me tell you,
this is one hard test I hope to pass when my time comes. I completely
believe in Karma, Positive as well as Negative. We can only hope that
their negative Karma will catch up with them one day in this lifetime.
To hurt my wife's credit in this way was as hurtful as it gets as she
did nothing to them except offer them a way to have the home THEY
wanted. We will survive a 'foreclosure' being on her credit... And
we hope to survive a long life of never believing a word they ever say.
We hope this helps others as well... That would make something good out
of a totally disgusting brother/sister relationship that cost us dearly.

One
might think that you could trust your own sister (
Lisa Yarger
), and
brother-in-law (
Christopher Yarger
) when they told us to our face that they would not screw
us, and we could trust them completely. At least that is what my wife and I
believed when we offered them to buy our house, especially due to the incredible terms
we made available to them. We have never felt so betrayed,
especially when we bent over backwards to assist them in buying a home
because they could not qualify for financing on their own.
In
my infinite wisdom, I contacted my sister
Lisa Yarger
and told
her we wanted to sell this house. She and her husband Chris Yarger lived in
Schaumburg anyway, and they had always wanted to buy a house, but their
combined credit would not allow for a mortgage.
